Raspberry Pi gets better with every birthday it passes by and the 4th birthday is no different! The foundation has been working on making it bigger and better every single time. This time its a giant leap and one could'nt ask for more!? The team just sets standards for SBCs and micro computing world. The Raspberry Pi 3 Model B is out and it is AMAZING.
The Raspberry Pi 3 brings in 64 bit computing to the SBC zone and integrates Wifi and BLE making it one less thing to worry about while doing serious IoT projects or anything that involves wireless communication. So no more messy Wifi Dongles or adapters as the Pi is self sufficient with the onboard BCM43143 Wifi Chip. The BLE support software-wise is still in the works but considering the diligent team at the foundation they will make it happen tomorrow! The Pi variant boasts a next generation Quad Core Broadcom BCM2837 64-bit ARMv8 processor, making the processor speed increase from 900 MHz on the Pi 2 to up to 1.2GHz on the Pi 3! Gamers please note, you may start running faster games on the Pi soon!
Lastly, there’s an upgraded switched power source that goes up to 2.5 Amps instead of just 2 Amps - allowing your Pi to power even more powerful devices over USB ports. Again no more complaints on USB devices needing more power or not functioning cos of the same.
All this in the same package as before so that it doesnt introduce any new confusion to the users! Thats the magic of Raspberry Pi 3. The only difference is a slight change in where the LEDs are positioned. All existing cases and accessories will still be fully compatible with the Pi 3, Pi 2, and Pi B + - though if you have a case with a metal top there might be some WiFi chip difficulties but who cares when you dont have to worry about configuration or a loose Wifi adapter!
